Marshalling on Tour Britannia 2010
In its first five years, Tour Britannia has firmly established itself as Britain’s premier historic race-tour and has also set high standards in marshalling, whilst earning a reputation as a friendly event with a unique sense of camaraderie, not only amongst its competitors but also amongst those who ensure that the event runs smoothly, efficiently and safely – the marshals.
In addition to the senior officials on the sporting side:
Fred Gallagher – Sporting Director
Andrew Kellitt – Clerk of the Course (Competition)
Grahame White – Race Director
Andy Gibson – Clerk of the Course (Regularity)
Tour Britannia has benefitted from the experience and expertise of other top-class officials, together with all those enthusiasts who have ventured out to assist at one or more of the venues.
For 2010, marshals will be recruited from amongst those who have helped out before and additional marshals will be recruited by senior officials and stage commanders. However, we would welcome offers of assistance from others who would like to help this year’s event become even more successful.
If you would like to offer your services on this year’s Tour - on the race circuits, stages or road regularities, at time controls or in the paddock - please print off the Registration Form, complete your details and preferences and then scan and send it as an email attachment to Peter Fieldhouse – Chief Marshal. Alternatively, send it by post to the address shown. You will then be contacted with confirmatory details. Only a limited number of places are available at each venue and these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
You would be very welcome to join us. Tour Britannia is a unique event that will provide happy memories of very pleasant people, superb cars and competitive action. Such is the gratitude of the Organising Team to our marshals that I hope the mementos this year will again prove to be excellent and, at most venues, some light refreshments will be provided.
