MARSHALLING ON TOUR BRITANNIA 2012

In its first seven years, Tour Britannia has firmly established itself as Britain’s premier historic race-tour and has also set high standards in marshalling, whilst earning a reputation as a friendly event with a unique sense of camaraderie, not only amongst its competitors but also amongst those who ensure that the event runs smoothly, efficiently and safely – the marshals.

Tour Britannia is a unique event in that it crosses the boundaries between race, speed, road and stage rallying, and as such provides an exciting and memorable experience for all its marshals.

Our route this year sees us starting from Harrogate with two loops taking in Yorkshire on Thursday 7th June,  both Yorkshire and Lincolnshire on Friday 8th, and on Saturday 9th heading out of Yorkshire through the Peak District to our finish in the north Midlands.

We are very pleased to welcome back those marshals who have assisted us in the past, but of course, we are also keen to extend our marshalling family.  We are looking to recruit some experienced stage commanders as well as marshals with speed or rally backgrounds, but even if you haven’t been marshalling for years, we will be happy to hear from you.  We need crews for the race circuits, special stages and road regularities;  you could find yourself at a time control, in a race paddock or on a classic stage in a superb stately home setting.
