Tour Britannia 2010
12 October 2009
Dear Competitor,
Thank you again for your Tour Britannia support in 2009.
Thank you also for returning your questionnaires. I you are still walking around a blank one, please do the necessary when you get a moment.
Our plans for Tour Britannia 2010 are progressing well. They will be on our website by 21 October, to coincide with Robert Coucher's Tour Britannia 2009 feature in December's Octane which will be printed a few days later. The dates will be 7, 8 and 9 September 2010, so please blank these dates in your new diaries without delay. Documentation and our 1st day will be on a Tuesday rather than a Monday to give us all a slight gap to get sorted after the previous week-end.
We never properly thanked Sholto Gilbertson of Bonhams Auctioneers and Marcus Atkinson of Hagerty International for funding happy hour on the Tuesday night at at Rudding Park. Thank you boys - much appreciated.
Julian Greene of The Wine Treasury www.winetreasury.com phone 0207 793 9999 supplied us with our red and white wine at Rudding Park. We certainly got through much more than expected which is perhaps a good indication of its quality and drinkability. Please contact him for delivered prices. Our excellent prizegiving champagne came from Frazer Thompson in The Chapel Down Winery, Kent. This was also very well priced. Please contact him at www.englishwinesgroup.com or on 01580 763033 if you are in the market for supplies including delivery.
Tour Britannia photographer Tim Hardy has completed his superb 2009 coffee table book. He has a dedicated page which can be viewed by clicking the Tour Britannia logo on his website homepage www.timhardy.co.uk He outlines the procedure for purchasing copies.
As always, please spread the gospel about Tour Britannia.
Best regards,
Alec (Poole)
