Tour Britannia 2010 News

22 October 2009
To judge by the post -Tour Britannia questionnaires that so many competitors returned to our office after the 2009 event, we must be doing quite a lot of things right as the majority went out of their way to tell us that they would be back next year. Thus for them and the many friends that the Tour Britannia is yet to make, the good news is that in 2010 we shall be running mid-week between September 7th and 9th with a very similar format to that which we used this year.

Scrutineering and Documentation will be on the morning of Tuesday, September 7th so that after lunch we shall get the ball rolling with a track event followed by one or more stages. Developing Tour Britannia's popular format of finding fresh race and stage venues linked by quiet roads, the bulk of the 2010 event will be centred in Cheshire and North Wales.

Thus on Wednesday September 8th we shall head west from our base in Cheshire to the new circuit at Anglesey and this means that we have the chance, by popular request, to take in some longer stages located in North Wales on the way there. To add variety, the plan is to do the stages in the reverse direction on the way back to our Cheshire HQ hotel that afternoon.

The final day, Thursday September 9th of Tour Britannia 2010 will be back on familiar territory in the Midlands with a variety of stages, traditional British hill climbs and a race at Mallory Park.

For those of you making plans for next year and anxious to secure a place, entries for the 2010 event are now open. 2010 Entry Forms and Regulations can be downloaded from this site or you can apply to the event office and we will mail copies to you. As more information about the Tour Britannia 2010 comes to hand, it will be put here on the web site, but, if you want to avoid having to constantly monitor this site, then please advise us on info@tourbritannia.com and we will e-mail new information to you as it is posted on the web site.

Tour Britannia's reputation is growing as an event run by competitors for competitors. As ever, the ethos we try to create is that of an event run entirely for the enjoyment of the people taking part whether it be in the Competition or the Regularity Sections. Of course we have rules and regulations for all to adhere to strictly during the day - but the ground rules are that they should be implemented in an open and pleasant manner. This convivial ambiance extends throughout the lunches and dinners and is based on friendly camaraderie between all the competitors and officials.

There are no rules or regulations in the evenings.
