Tour Britannia Launches New Website
Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:02AM As off today, web users will experience a whole new Tour Britannia online with the launch of a completely redesigned www.tourbritannia.com.
With significantly enhanced features and functions the site look and feel will portray what one would expect from the Most Prestigious Race Tour for Classic Cars in the UK. Among the highlights of the new website are a vastly improved media area with easy access to recent articles and photo archives, complete route maps, entry lists and ways to get engaged with the event.
Alec Poole, Tour Britannia Director commented on the launch “Our objective has been to give visitors a real taste of what Tour Britannia is about and to make them want to be part of the event, either as a Competitor, Marshall or simply to become a Fan and easily follow the Tour”.
As well as catering for competitors by keeping them up to speed with Tour Britannia’s latest developments, the Organisers have also put spectators at the forefront of the new website. Features such as accurate Google maps showing the spectator venues where people can enjoy seeing the amazing cars entered in the event as well as soon to be released detailed timings of where to catch all the action will make it easier for people to plan their day out.
Poole added “We believe that displaying the map of where we are going each day and the fact that Tour Britannia is being held over a week-end will encourage a lot more spectators to watch the cars pass along the route near their homes. And we are accumulating an excellent entry of beautiful and interesting cars for them not to miss on the 17th-19th of June”.
The new site also takes Tour Britannia into new territories with social network links to the event newly created pages on Facebook and Twitter.
