7-9 September 2010

Tour Britannia 2010 Route

Developing Tour Britannia’s popular format of finding fresh race and novel stage venues linked by quiet public roads, the bulk of the 2010 event will be centred in Cheshire and North Wales.

Scrutineering and Documentation will be on the morning of Tuesday, September 7th at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel, Chester. We shall start from there and get the ball rolling with our first stage at Aintree, a venue steeped in motorsport nostalgia, followed by racing at the beautiful parkland circuit Oulton Park.

On Wednesday, we head west from our base in Cheshire to races at the new circuit on Anglesey, where we will also have our traditional barbecue lunch. On the way, we will take in some longer challenging Welsh stages, linked by stunning public roads. On the return leg, the main feature will be the dramatic stage on the Great Orme Marine Drive in Llandudno, before arriving back at our Cheshire HQ hotel in time for Happy Hour.

On the final day, we will head south to our finish and prize-giving at the Marriott Hotel, Leicester. Competitors will have to be on the ball early, as the day will start with a long stage at Eaton Hall, the magnificent Grosvenor Estate just south of Chester. This is followed in quick succession with a stage at Cholmondeley Castle, home of the Pageant of Power and a coffee stop at the Cholmondeley Arms. Then on to some familiar territory and two more challenging stages, leading up to our final races at the friendly Midlands’ circuit at Mallory Park, just before the finish.
